A Bit Easier

It seems to me to feel like the space between Matt and my visits are getting easier. I think I'm in a routine now, in a way.

Oh gosh, last night I knew what I was gonna post about.

My Saturday class is really... weird. I kinda feel like I'm not learning anything, at least not so that it sticks. There are no real "tests," just at the end of each chapter he assigns us a problem and that is what we're graded on. I did awful on the first two, and the rest he basically gave us the answers to. Ok, not basically, he DID! He says I'm getting an A-, but is that really what I should be getting?

Work is pretty crazy right now. No, not busy, it's slower than ever it seems, but the slower it gets, the more time the employees have to talk, and the more rumors and gossip and talking behind each others backs goes on. I'm stuck between these two options: Defend the persons being talked about to whomever is doing the talking (defend both ways), or just keep my mouth shut and not risk making things worse. Of course, they want to know what is being said about them, and in most cases I know, but then I would be spreading this gossip just as bad. I know some of the stuff that one party says is over exaggerating, and I know that stuff that has been talked negatively about one person was really not all at her fault. But, if I defended her, wouldn't I just be spreading rumor about the other girl who is also partly at fault? Sometimes it's hard to keep my mouth shut, but then I think of any possible consequences and then it becomes amazingly easier. This isn't even high-school bad, this is middle school click & gossip-worthy.

And now, some pictures! This is my second cousin, Cru. His full name is Christopher Michael Presti, and he was born 3 months ago today, on Feb. 29th; leap day!

This is his birth picture.

Look at those dimples!

Memorial Day

Well, to start off the weekend, Matt and I took my brother to Funtown Soul Jam for his 16th birthday on Saturday! I think we all had a great time. I don't have any pictures except the one we got from the Excalibur, but I'm too lazy to scan it right now.

Sunday was pretty laid back. We just sat around for most of the day, and we made muffins. Then we went window shopping, but I did get Hailey's birthday gift! :-D

And just to show that we are both Ted Dekker obsessed right now, here are a list of the books i've read this year, and the ones with an *asterisk are the ones that Matt has read as well.

Black - Ted Dekker*
Red - Ted Dekker*
White - Ted Dekker*
Chosen - Ted Dekker*
Infidel - Ted Dekker*
Renegade - Ted Dekker*
Chaos - Ted Dekker*
Skin - Ted Dekker
Showdown - Ted Dekker* (in process for both of us)
Prince Caspian - C.S. Lewis

Pretty Good Start, Eh?

Weekday Visit

Matt and I decided that since we both wanted to spend Mother's Day with our mothers (go figure) we would plan a trip during the middle of the following week, since I'm off school now. It was mostly uneventful, except for the fact that I was there 2 1/2 day's and only saw Matt for like 12 hours because he slept all the time! Yes, he had to work.

Let's see, I hung out with Meesh the first day, while Matt was sleeping. We ate at Subway and waited for her mom to notice us... Which she didn't until we walked up to her.
Matt, Karen, Jason and I went to Aggies that evening, all being very indecisive. I love Aggies! : )

The next day I played with Hailey most of the morning, until I had to finish up some homework for my Saturday class while Matt slept. Theeeenn.... Matt and I went out shopping. It was kinda fun. Nothing unusual. Wow, we're pretty boring now.

I can't find my library card. This upsets me, because Matt won't let me borrow his book because he's still reading it!!! =-O I told him I coulda been done with it by today and he could have it back... But he said he paid for it and he would be the first to read it. Blah! : P. Now I can't request any books from other libraries. I think when I'm in town today I'm gonna go request a new library card. Or at least the number on the bar code!

And Matt comes at 7ish tonight, after I go to a friend of mines wedding. Congratulations Branden and Katie!

Matt and I plan on seeing Prince Caspian some time this week hopefully.

Ok, this was an excruciatingly boring post.

Changing World

KUTLESS

"Changing World"

I thought I had it all under control
I thought my fate was still in my hands
All of my plans were firmly set
By the words that I say

I forgot how quickly things can change
Now my vision can not be the same

[CHORUS:]
My life is not what I thought
I'm not where I planned to be
Though something's gone
There's nothing wrong with my changing world
Though something's gone
There's nothing wrong with my changing world

I need to let go of my destiny
I need to trust in things unseen
I believe in having faith
Though I yield my control

I forgot how quickly things can change
Now my vision can not be the same

[BRIDGE:]
I'm embracing all of my fears
I am watching them turn to delight
The very fears which were gripping my mind
Are now the hands shaping and sculpting my dreams

Although this hasn't been a struggle for me recently, see the February Archives, when the snow was a big interference.

Allergies

I had mentioned that I had a migraine a few days back, and then another headache... Well I've been getting these not-debilitating-headaches almost everyday. They are just like a dull ache, but I never used to get headaches. Now they're quite frequent and I've had 2 migraines in the past couple of weeks, something I had never experienced before.

My mom, my shift supervisor and I think it's allergies. It's the season, and I've had season long "colds" before around this time. Plus, I'm sneezing a lot more, and I've got dark-ish circles under my eyes. I think it's allergies. I guess it's time to invest in some benadryl.

Happy Mothers Day!

The Banner I made for Mommy

And here are the pictures we took for the wall for Mother's Day (she's been begging me to get mine done, but she had no clue I was actually planning on doing it!)

And this one is an extra that the lady gave us because we were such good customers!

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there!!

The End.

Alright. The end of the Spring Semester at UMA has finally come.

30 hours of work.
4 tests.
2 headaches.
1 paper.
1 week.

WHEW! I've still got a class every other Saturday until June 21st, but it's not too much. I wont have any classes whatsoever from 6/21-7/7. This week has been SO crazy! As you have already read, I'm working 30 hours this week, plus finals. Also, I got a really bad migraine a few days ago, I thought I was going to throw up... And I can feel it coming back. I'm working tomorrow, coming home and doing homework for my Saturday class... and my Saturday is wake-up, drive, class, drive, nap, work, sleep... then MOTHER'S DAY!

I'm so excited for the gift my brother and I got her. I'm not sure if she monitors this blog or anything (I may have even said something on the blog already, but whatever) so no details until Sunday.

Then I have 3, count-em 3 transfers!! A transfer is where I go to another Iparty store to get/bring merchandise for a customer so they don't have to travel. They usually don't do too many transfers, unless its for a lot of product or unless someone is going. Well this girl is purchasing like $1,000 in merchandise, which is basically what our Iparty makes in 1 day. So I'm going to the Portland, Newington, and Peabody store. Yeah, I'm driving an hour out of my way, but if Matt doesn't want to go I will go when he's sleeping.

Okay. Headache + Computer Monitor = Pain.

One More Week

Of Spring Classes!!!

Both of my Summer classes are in the second session, So I've only got my every-other-Saturday class until July 7th! I'm really excited to take a small break from homework, and I plan to spend the time planning (as much as one can plan) my future move. And reading.

And now I have a question: Should I get a second job for the summer? I could always use the money, but it's my last summer working part time before... Life hits full time. The practical part of me says "You really need the money!" and the rest of me is just like "Relax while you can!"

OK. Time to go finish my last two tests and one last paper for the semester.
