One More...

Just one more day until I make the trip down to see Matt. It will probably be a short-feeling weekend, because he's working 20 hours in 2 days so he's going to be sleeping a lot.

Matt got a hamster. Fuzzy lumpkins.

Matt has begun the job search, as after four weeks he still does not have a schedule and is often just "called in" on the nights when he can work. It's certainly a pain.

I'm going skiing this afternoon after my Global Perspective class, in which I just took a test. I think I did pretty bad. I didn't study much, but after looking at the test, I don't think any amount of studying what I had in my notes would have prepared me. There's a lot of stuff in there I don't remember talking about, and it was primarily in multiple choice, and often the multiple choice answers could have varied depending on opinion. There is no such thing as "exact science" to me anymore. If I have to hear any more crap about evolution and a 3,000,000,000 year old world I'm going to explode! Whats worst is that she was talking about something that I've read about in Christian books, so I know that there is evidence against it, so I asked her "Is this fact or theory." She responded, "There is enough evidence toward this that it is pretty much fact. This does happen." Yeah, right. And pigs will fly someday. But to end off my tantrum, this definitely my least favorite class of my college career. I'll be glad when I never have open an environmental science book again or feel guilty that I'm using up too much of the earths resources because my parents built a large house to raise their children in, and that they fulfilled God's command to populate the earth. Gimme a break people.

Oh, and Pepin is Matt's new roommate!

Why One more? One more day, one more argument, one more job, one more straw of hay on the camels back.... And one more person I have to compete with for Matt's attention :-p! jk love yah pep!

Winter Vacation

Since I had this week off of school, and was hardly working, I spend Monday night - Saturday morning with Matt. (It was only supposed to be until Friday afternoon, but there were changes due to snow). He was working some of the time, but I survived ; ). We ended up officially getting the Generation Christ website finished!! Yay! We also did a little bowling, and Matt got a high score of 131! I'd be more excited for him if he didn't beat my previous record of 130... I barely broke 100 this time. Let's see, what else? (I took some pictures, but they're not loaded yet, so I'll save them for another post.) Oh! Pepin came home. That was fun... I went shopping with Amanda, Matt's sister... I watched Hailey... Matt slept... Haha! I have discovered my new "addiction" is the vanilla cream donut at Dunkin' Donuts!! I had like 4 this week.

Um. If I remember anything else, I'll post it with the pictures, but although I had a great time, it looks pretty boring on paper, so to speak!

Ta-ta for now!

Sunday

this was on a pinball machine at jokers

So I spent most of Sunday morning being depressed, and ended up going to Matt's cousins birthday party with his family. Then, we both drove to Portland anyway. So, Matt didn't come with his parents, but we still met halfway and had a great time. First we browsed the Mall and took pictures with one of those photo booths (I'd show you, but I think I left my strip in Matt's car). Then we spent the next half hour driving on and off the highway paying tolls trying to find a movie theater. We got some pretty bad directions from guy from New Hampshire (why listen to a guy who lives in NH when we were 1hr into Maine?) It doesn't help that I'm the worst person with directions and navigation and last night I learned that Matt isn't much better. We saw "Jumper." It was pretty good, and it was a short movie, which worked out well because we still got to eat out and get home by 11:15. We went to Applebee's, because I had a gift card there. We went a little over, but not bad. We got this wierd mac and cheese with roasted chicken, a ceasar salad, mozzerella sticks, mini angus burgers, this wierd bread dip (YUM) and a chocolate mousse shooter thing for desert. Most of those are appetizers, and we split everything, and the bill only came to like $30 including tip, so I think we did pretty well : ). AND I get to see him Tuesday. Yay!

Yeah, Right

Never mind the whole Sunday thing. See the 1st Valentines Day post and you'll see how we might do something either Sunday or next week. We decided on Sunday.

Yeah, Right.

Read the posts "So much for this week" and "The snow is out to get us" and the first half of the post "If life were perfectly planned" and I think you'll understand what happened. Except this time it wasn't the snow.

Symphonix needs to die.

Valentines Day, continued. . .

Okay, so update:

I got my power back. : ) YAY! I love electricity!

I didn't take any really good pictures of the trees, because my battery died in my camera and I had no way to recharge them, and now its dark, plus a lot of the ice has already melted off of the trees (thank God.)

In other news:
Matt being the pain in the butt that he is got flowers and chocolate delivered to my house even though I told him I only wanted him to read "The Dream Giver" as a gift. They're pretty, and I have some pics of the roses to post:

I haven't read the book "The Five Love Languages," but I can tell that Matt's major love language is giving gifts, so I try not to give him a hard time about it, and try to find ways out of him giving me gifts, such as asking him to read a book, (even though it was the perfect excuse to get him to read it anyway.) and Matt: Don't think that flowers and chocolate is going to get you out of reading "The Dream Giver!"

Valentines Day

As said in our last post, Matt and I are apart, and due to my switching shifts he decided not to come back for Valentines Day. It's really not a big deal, but we've decided to do something special either Sunday or next week when I visit. Matt is coming up with his parents to visit the church in North Monmouth, and we might be doing something in Portland, or hanging out together after church. If that doesn't happen, then we'll do something together when I visit him next week (I have vacation next week, and I'm only working two days, sadly).

In other news, last night the power went out at my[Laura's] house! I woke up this morning and we still don't have power, and I'm fearing a 13 day power outage like we had with the ice storm in 1998. Hopefully it will warm up today and melt a good amount of ice off of the trees. For those of you who don't know about the ice storm (although I think most of you do,) here is a link to the article. I'll post a picture if what the trees look like after I take one ;).

Enough of me babbling. Have a great Valentines day!!

The Snow is Out to Get Us

Okay, so I did end up seeing Matt before this weekend, he ended up being able to come Monday into Tuesday. Unfortunately, he had to leave Tuesday afternoon instead of Wednesday morning because of a predicted snowstorm that would make it dangerous for him to drive on Wednesday.

Matt and I have now come to this revelation that since nothing works out as we plan, we should just plan things the opposite of how we want them to happen.

Oh well. As a wise boyfriend once said, two days are better than no days.

Amazingly, Matt's first name is the 40th most popular first name. I thought it would be higher. Mine is the 57th.

Uh-May-Zing

I was just coming on here to post about the Generation Christ website that Matt and I have finally got partially active, when, lo and behold, he already posted! It's astounding in two ways: we both had the same thought, and HE ACTUALLY POSTED!!! Wow. I'm in shock. Haha, I'm just teasing him. And I'm going to stop now because this is all I came on here to post and if I write anymore I may get in trouble. :-P

Generation Christ Update

Hey everyone, yes, it has been a really rough week, but lots of good things have come out of this week as well! The New Generation Christ website is finally up and running (partially) we still have a lot of work to do, but the new layout is finally up to view, thanks to the love of my life! BTW: CHECK IT OUT!!! (http://genchrist.org/) Also after a lot of hard work and research I also got the forums laid out as well! Keep it all in prayer that Laura and I don't lose our minds, after all, I could become a crazy emo man...

and I think that would be detrimental to everyones health... thanks for the support guys!

So much for this week....

Matt was supposed to come down this weekend because I had made two trips in a row and schoolwork and gas money has been bogging me down. Well, due to Matt's stinky new work schedule, he had to work on the weekend. That was OK though, because Thursday after I got home from school he could come and be with me until I had to work on Friday night. Well... We thought about moving it to Wednesday because we both had nothing better to do, my college was closed because of snow, but it cleaned up pretty quick. But Matt had music practice. So he didn't come, and by the time music practice was over the roads were getting icy and it started snowing again. OK. He can still come tomorrow. We wake up in the morning, and I still had class so even though the roads were safe now he was gonna come later so he wasn't here when I wasn't. Obviously a bad decision because they let me out of school early because of the weather and thus Matt couldn't come. My countdown has gone from a couple of hours until I see him again, to at least 7 more days. I hate this, I really do.

If life were perfectly planned....

I just spend the last 45 minutes being all depressed because for some reason Matt and I are in a personal recession in our jobs, which makes it really hard to make the expensive trip to visit each other every week (think of gas prices), let alone pay our bills. I was depressed and started getting into that negative thinking mode where everything that is bad comes and bogs me down all at once.

But then I was thinking about people who have it worse off... And wondering why I was getting to upset over the fact that I am unable to plan out the next 3 years of my life. But then, what makes the people who have it worse off than me less depressed? They think of someone worse off than them? What happens when they get to the bottom of the chain. The bottom where they cannot think of anyone who has it worse to compare to? What about those people? :(
